Introduction of APZY series slurry pump
APYZ series slurry pump is one kind of centrifugal pump. Here the slurry pump is a submersible type. It's vertical type. Compared to a normal centrifugal pump used in the drilling fluids process, the slurry pump is compact occupies little space. And the material of the APYZ submersible slurry pump is more anti-abrasive. For oil drilling fluids systems, they are used to transfer drilling mud from the desilter tank to the centrifuges as a feeding pump of centrifuges.
submersible three-phase high power and high volume heavy-duty slurry pump is driven by a 6-pole motor. In combination with abrasion-resistant wear parts, the very low-speed motor ensures an extremely long wear life. The side discharge, the spiral design allows smoother passage of the sucked solid matters. The motor is cooled by a water jacket that assures efficient motor cooling even when it operates with its motor exposed to air.

The submersible slurry pump can be also used in the mud recycling system for HDD or other civil constructions need mud systems. Then the slurry pump is used to deliver drilling mud into the shale shaker as it's different from the oilfield mud system. For different use and location, the submersible depth can be adjusted accordingly.
Centrifugal slurry pumps are a good allrounder for almost all slurry types and applications, however, some limitations include:
If the slurry concentration is above 60-65%, it will not react well to centrifugal force
If pressure requirement exceeds 100m head
If you have a low-flow, high head application - a centrifugal pump becomes inefficient and excessive wear can be experienced.

How to select a submersible slurry pump?
Firstly, we need to check the centrifuge flow rate or treating capacity in the oilfield mud system. Usually we fit APYZ slurry pump driven by 10hp motor for a high speed centrifuge APGLW355X1258. Then, we need to consider the tank or pit depth. There will be initial design on slurry pump submerged length. We need to find out the professional supplier of such pump. It's important to centrifuge performance and whole mud system benefits, even whole drilling project
For the HDD mud recycling system, the slurry pump can be selected according to the shaker capacity. And then confirm the power of pump. The depth of such pump is very flexible. Even there is a pit deeps 3m, we can add an extended pipe on the pump inlet port.
Is there any other slurry pump?
Yes. There are many different model of submersible slurry pump. Including the AP50YZ20-18, AP50YZ25-12, AP65YZ50-12, and so on. Clients can select the pumps according to the practical working condition. Furthermore, if clients prefer the low price items, the material will be different with common raw material. Including the pump body and the pump impeller.
The slurry pump can be the horizontal type. That means the material is more durable and anti-abrasive than common centrifugal pump but the installation way is the horizontal type. Service life and the function will be same as the submersible slurry pump.
